What To Do If You Get a One Star Review
‘Here’s your 1 star review, Dr. Gividen—not that you earned it!’ (video) … how a dentist responds to a one star review.
Dr. Gividen: “About this negative review I got from a patient … I have two options: (1) let it stop me in my tracks, or (2) dissect it for what it really is, learn from it, and keep going. Here’s what I did.”

“I’m working through my day and, as I swing by my desk, I see there’s a negative “Not even a 1 star” review from a patient who, suffice it to say, is a tad in need of TLC. I have two options: (1) let it stop me in my tracks, or (2) dissect it for what it really is, learn from it, and keep going. I chose to do the latter because, in this case, the patient was high on emotion and one I wasn’t really sorry to see go. Sometimes patient/doctor relationships don’t work, and that’s OK. It’s the ones we cultivate amazing relationships with that make our jobs worth it.”
